The River City Construction Foundation has raised more than $50,000 for funding trades-based programs in Illinois schools.
The fundraised money will be donated to around 17 local area schools and will be used to enhance hands-on learning opportunities for students in the skilled trades. One school that’s received a portion of the funds is the Construction Career Lab at Woodruff Career and Technical Center in Peoria.
"We are just so grateful for their partnership through all of the 17 school visits. The amount of passion that the high schools, the teachers and educators have for these programs is phenomenal. So, we appreciate all of their hard work in the schools”
Marissa Pfoff
Talent Director for RCC Foundations
The foundation plans to continue the fundraiser in years to come and saw an increase from $30,000 to $50,000 raised through this year alone, compared to the previous.
